Obviously, this type of Russian shirt did not appear earlier than the 15th century , since it was then that the first images of a shirt with such a fastener appeared [4]. However, archaeological finds of the remains of shirts in male burials of the Vladimir-Suzdal principality and the Novgorod land indicate that shirts with a slanting collar existed at the end of the 11th-middle of the 12th centuries. Shirts with a stand-up collar had a round cut, and the head-necks were rectangular, round, or trapezoidal.
